Do you bring hands-on leadership experience in production operations, with the judgement to balance daily delivery, people management, and continuous improvement? Have you managed on-site operational teams through shifting priorities while keeping quality, capacity, efficiency, and cost front of mind?

If this sounds like you and you are driven by purpose, join the SOPHiA GENETICS Production team as a Manager, Production and enable us to make a positive impact on the outcomes for cancer and rare disease patients worldwide.

The nature of this role means you can expect to be in the office 5 days per week for this opportunity, connected to our production site in Rolle.

Our Mission

We believe there is a smarter, more data-driven way to make decisions in healthcare and our cloud-native AI powered SOPHiA DDM Platform makes that vision a reality on a daily basis. You will have direct input to our mission to democratize data-driven medicine for the ultimate benefit of cancer and rare disease patients across the globe.

Your Mission

As Manager, Production, you will lead the day-to-day running of production operations: setting priorities, planning team activities, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the team can deliver reliably in a fast-changing environment. You will manage a team of 5 people, taking ownership of daily execution while also driving improvements across quality, capacity, efficiency, and cost. This is a hands-on leadership role when needed, but not a technician role: you will balance stepping into operations to support urgent delivery with leading projects that improve how the team works over time.

The value you add

  • Lead and manage the production operations team, providing clear daily priorities, support, and coverage planning so operations keep moving.
  • Ensure production runs smoothly, safely, and reliably, with strong focus on quality, delivery, and practical decision-making when priorities shift.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process efficiency, quality, capacity improvement, and cost reduction.
  • Lead projects autonomously, proactively moving them forward while keeping day-to-day production under control.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Quality, QC, project teams, and customers when production issues arise, such as mix-ups or other operational concerns.

Requirements

We know every background is different, but to be best set for success we see you bringing:

  • Direct working experience in a production or warehouse capacity for a similar healthcare, lifescience, diagnostic or medical device environemt, producing or assembling products in a highly regulated environment.
  • Experience leading people who need to be on site every day, including planning coverage, solving resource constraints, and keeping operations moving.
  • Direct leadership exposure in lean environments where you've had to provide operational and hands-on support.
  • Strong operational judgement, including knowing when to step into the field to support the team and when to stay focused on longer-term projects and improvements.
  • Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives across process efficiency, quality, capacity, and cost, ideally in a regulated or quality-focused environment.Strong cross-functional collaboration with Quality, QC, and other operational stakeholders.
  • Ability to work on site 5 days per week and commute reliably to the production site.
